I have said many times that the first one was a "flawed masterpiece",and with this one the devs sure seem to have listened to the fans.
I quess you should play Ratchet and Borderlands first for the next 2 to 3 weeks since they are rentals.Then get to your "owned copy" games.

For a 3rd person act/platformer such as Ratchet shifting the focus from frames to an overall improved "image quality" will probably yield dividends......
Speaking of general rules I would think the best way to go for gaming in the future would be to copy the blue-prints created by Naughty Dog and Uncharted 2 along with what Modern Warfare 2 have done....
Meaty single player,expansive MP,and a seperate co-op mission gameplay addition.Like getting 3 games in 1.... As long as they are all done without compromise,nothing half done and tacked on,full on backing behind each category.
I like the idea of continuing to "push the boundaries" and to move forward with DLC. Expand upon the mechanics and create tools that are already in place.Add level packs that can be used to add even more diversity in create mode.
If I had a choice of what I would want to see from Media Molecule it would be for them to continue building upon the already existing strong foundation of LBP and "eventually" come up with an all new IP full of the quirky stylish MM...

My first thought is they are getting rid of the Banjo/Conker/Kameo people/artists and hiring new Casual/mini game devs....
The comment "as a result of these changes" makes me think bye,bye old talent,hello new casual.Natal talent.Sounds like a complete turn-about..If not complete,then a sure change and route...
If part of the reason for canning Kameo 2 was because of "poor" sales,then why did they get so deep in development to begin with? Low sales is a false!

The new North Carolina studios is something to look at. Is that rumored act/RPG/platformer going to be multi-plat? As they say never say never.....In the end I still want my exclusives,but money changes things quick....

Dream mode on: I wish Insomniac and ND would get together and create a game with Jak & Dax along with Ratchet and Clank,a co-op game made for the heavens using all of thier resources.
All the while still coming out with ND's Uncharted 3 and that new Insomniac IP (hopefully that rumored act/RPG/pltformer)...
If Oddworld inhabitants can finally come forward with the game based on their movie "Citizen siege" and Beyond good and evil 2 actually lives,along with anything new from Media Molecule new IP or LBP2, and they join "Last guardian",I may just have to do cartwheels....
My bet would be that R3 will come in Fall 10' and K3 in early 11'.

Uncharted 3 with a little more open ended sandbox World,not totally of course,but a little more diversity in choice of directions/paths,nothing wide opened,along with more in-depth stealth,basically UC2 on steroids,another leap forward as they did from UC1 to UC2.... And a new act/RPG/platformer IP,with a more toon/caricature based quirky creative style.....May as well dream big!...

Oddworld's Stranger's Wrath............ is not alive on X360.But it is coming to PC/Steam in a package called "Oddbox" along with the first two Abe games and Munch...
It's day 1 for me ever since they first announced it.
I am very happy it is selling well,as this will show Insomniac they "should" continue the series.Plus other dev houses get the idea that this genre sells well,and other studios can create games similar to this game and style....
In my book LFD 2 deserves a 9. MF 2 deserves a 9.5, & Bayonetta being a 10 is pretty shocking.Looks OK,but a 10 is real surprising.
Assassins creed 2 derserves a 9 at least.Still playing it,it could be closer to a 9.5 then a 8!
